The top 100 most‐cited papers authored by Dr. Jens Ove Andreasen: A bibliometric analysis

Background/Aim Dr. Jens Ove Andreasen, the “father” of dental traumatology, passed away on September 26, 2020. As a tribute, aim this study was to catalog and analyze top 100 most-cited papers (co)authored by Andreasen. Materials Methods A bibliometric analysis conducted October 21, 2020, in Web Science Core Collection (WoS-CC) database. The numbers citations WoS “All Databases” section, Scopus, Google Scholar databases were cross-matched. Two researchers collected following data: title, number citations, authors, country, year, journals, design, theme. VOSviewer software used generate collaborative network maps for authors keywords. Results Of 194 identified WoS-CC, list compiled with each paper ranged from 24 365 (mean: 85.4). Nine cited more than 200 times. Most published Dental Traumatology (55%), between 1990's 2000's (60%), laboratory design (40%). One hundred nine (co)authors, 19 countries papers. traumatology most studied theme (52%). Conclusions Andreasen composed mainly observational studies, mostly Traumatology. present humble homage highlight importance his research work. However, legacy goes beyond will always remain unsurpassed.
